Frankly, I can\u2019t attend another meeting where all we do is complain about this problem and don\u2019t offer any solutions.<\/p>\n

I hope you will consider supporting the creation of a New Hampshire\u00a0Coalition for Business and Education\u00a0that will be\u00a0focused entirely on advocating for quality education in New Hampshire\u00a0at a time when brainpower is the new currency of success in the 21^{st<\/sup>\u00a0century.<\/p>\n}

This effort will bring together a high-level group of business leaders to be a sounding board for excellent ideas on improving education at the secondary and postsecondary levels and then serve as\u00a0a vocal\u00a0advocate for those ideas that can make a difference.<\/p>\n

In the process of advocating for education, this\u00a0Coalition of business, policy and education leaders will avoid duplication of existing initiatives already working, and will use its influence to support efforts that are making a difference.<\/p>\n

We have already surveyed business and education leaders across New Hampshire and find that they strongly support the concept of a high-level group of\u00a0New Hampshire\u00a0leaders\u00a0focused on\u00a0advocating for improvements in education.<\/p>\n

The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has agreed to\u00a0serve as the\u00a0Coalition\u2019s fiscal agent and to accept tax deductible contributions, which will be used\u00a0for operating expenses.\u00a0 The New Hampshire College & University Council will provide administrative support in the start-up phase of this effort.<\/p>\n

If we are serious about New Hampshire\u2019s economic future, then there is no more important issue facing\u00a0our state\u00a0than the education of its citizen workforce. I hope you will consider joining in this critically important effort.<\/p>\n
